Wolfowitz date, Shaha Ali Riza

Saudi jeans, a saudi "modawanna"

Yesterday, I posted about Bethlehem Bloggers: Voices from the Bethlehem Ghetto. Today, Via BuzzMachine I find Saudi Jeans, a saudi post.

Free of expression needs in Arabic countries could make blogs explode. The author of this blog says:
"I think blogs could make a real difference, especially in the Arab World, where the lack of freedom of expression is a main barrier to progress and development. And to encourage more Arab users to start blogging, I'm glad to announce that I'm ready to give away the design of my Arabic blog...".

And he talks about a media piece published in an Arab newspaper:
"She also said the word "blog" is not translated to Arabic yet, which is wrong because the word "مدونة" (Modawanna) is a perfect translation, coined and approved by Arab bloggers".

Via this blog I am informed that Paul Wolfowitz, Bush's neoconservative hawk, is dating a muslim: "Shaha Ali Riza, an Arab feminist who is the acting manager for External Relations and Outreach for the Middle East and North Africa Region at the World Bank".

“But Wolfowitz, a married father of three, is said to be so blinded by his relationship with Riza, that influential members of the World Bank believe she played a key role in influencing the Pentagon official to launch the 2003 Iraq war. As his trusted confident, she is said to be one of most influential Muslims in Washington”.
